Grace+Peace is charting a unique course in service to our community. Instead of church-wide service projects being the focal point, we are trying to create long-term commitments. The language we like is, “we want to see people at G+P ‘re-orienting their lives for the good of another specific group of people’. To re-orient your life for someone else takes tremendous sacrifice and dedication. And that’s exactly what Jesus did for us.
What that practically means is that each G+P Missional Community is developing a specific focus for their prayer, time, encouragement, equipping, serving, and giving. One group has adopted Hunter Middle School. Check out the pics from a recent workday landscaping the beds in the school driveway. This MC hopes to be a long-term partner with Hunter for the good of the children, families, and staff that call it home.
Another MC is focused on the elderly in our community. They are serving at local care facility and actively serving as respite care providers for families who are primary caregivers for aging parents.
As G+P grows, we expect the number, variety, and passion of our MC groups will grow as well. This is a great time to join in and find your place ‘sacrificing for our world.’ You can connect to a group here.
